If you have a nagging feeling that something is a little off — trust that instinct. Signs include: your child isn’t meeting milestones for their age, you frequently can’t understand them, your child seems frustrated when communicating, or they’re losing words they previously had. The best first step is a free consultation — I’ll let you know honestly whether an evaluation makes sense.

I work with children from 18 months through to approximately age 11. If your child is outside this range, please still get in touch — I may be able to point you towards the right resource.

Yes — this is one of my specialisms. I provide therapy in English, Spanish, or a natural mix of both, depending on what works best for your child and family. Bilingualism does not cause speech delays; if your child is developing difficulties, receiving therapy in their home language is just as important as receiving it in English.

An evaluation usually takes around 60 minutes. I’ll review your child’s developmental history and your concerns, assess speech clarity, language comprehension, and expression through structured play, and then share my findings with clear recommendations for next steps. Evaluations can be conducted in English, Spanish, or both.

No — this is one of the most common misconceptions I come across. Research consistently shows that growing up bilingual does not cause speech or language delays. Bilingual children may mix languages (this is completely normal), but they should still hit the same overall communication milestones as monolingual children. If there is a delay, it exists in both languages — and therapy should address both.

We provide in-home therapy in the Chicago area. Familiar environments make a real difference for young children — they’re more relaxed, more engaged, and the strategies we work on transfer to everyday routines much more naturally.
